Duck Cars in Action
Controller
PID control taking distance from object as an input from an optical encoder.
Duck Car
As part of ENGS 26: Control Theory, a partner and I created a controller for an automatic car allowing it to follow objects at a specified distance. We took voltage, position, and speed measurements to characterize the car's motor and distance sensor, then used MATLAB simulation to explore controller designs. We implemented a PID controller via analog circuitry and iterated to optimize the design, minimizing overshoot and settling time.
